Mineral spots on glass

Sorry but can't use the search function. But, has anyone tried using cerium oxide to get rid of it. And if so, how.

Are they scratch marks, or just mineral deposits? If its just mineral deposits, a razor blade will normally take care of it. If the tank is empty yet, vinegar is good for dissolving those spots.
If youre trying to fix actual scratches, Im sure you could use that polisher on the outside, though I would be a little leary about using it internally (never done it myself).
