Mini Brittle Stars..too many??

josee1013

trying my best at this...
I noticed over the past days that the population of mini Brittle Stars increased in an exponential way...
Is too many a bad thing???
Or should I let them be...

does the adults one really bigger then the babies? or are the brittle legs that I'm seeing are already adults?
It's not a really good pic.. I put arrows to help...;)

The smaller ones you are seeing are a different type than the large ones. Yours will stay that small. They are not a problem to have, they are good at cleanup. But they are obviously eating something, so if you are having a population explosion maybe you are overfeeding.

he may not be overfeeding - but definitely feeding enough for these guys to increase in population. I have thousands of them in my 58 gallon reef. All of the nooks and crannies in the rock, the chaeto algae ball in the overflow box, under corals, etc. look like this:
