Anyone know where I can find/buy mini brittle stars? I have yet to find any in all the live rock I've bought.. and I miss the Lil buggers...

I have a big banded brittle star.. but i want those Lil arms popping out everywhere again.. plus they are a damn good part of the CUC... and reproduce well in a tank

I would try them, I just placed an order with inland aquatics and it was a terrible experience. Maybe others have had better luck with them but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They only ship flat rate priority to start with but I figured Indiana to PA wouldn't take more then a day so wasn't to worried. Well I placed my order the 13 of November and the money was taken from my account the 15 and they claim it can take a couple days to process once money clears. A week went by and I emailed them, no response. I emailed them a little over a week later pointing out it had been 3 weeks almost since the order was placed and money taken from my account yet nothing had been shipped. Finally several days later on the 30th my package was shipped. I received the order Friday. It has been in the 30's here at night reaching maybe mid 40's during the day and they shipped without a heat pack. Both bags arrived cold with zero movement so I went ahead and floated them anyways. The bags were small and even after almost half hr of floating there was no movement. The salinity was close enough to my DT so I put them but it was clear nothing survived. I emailed them but have yet to hear back and truthfully I'm not very hopeful.

That sucks man... I'm sorry to hear that..
Anything online scares me..
FLORIDA PETS on ebay.. I bought 24oz of copepods. "10,000 mixed pods or better claimed... they shipped about 2 days later... just priority flat rate as well... 6 days later..package comes in.. no heat pack.. no cooler.. just one of those hot/cold foil bags..

I know pods are small... but all I could see is dirty water in the bag.. with some kind of matter in it...nothing moving under its own power...I hesitantly dumped it in the tank anyways... free coral food maybe..

Deff wasn't no 10,000 or better anything in that bag..
No response from seller either..

I feel you frustration..

I will check out that site for sure though.. thank you

There are many good online retailers and without having a decent lfs anymore my coral and fish came from vivid and they were great to deal with and will buy from them again. Buying online is a gamble but your odds increase from using well known sites. Like you my options were limited for the mini brittles and I rolled the dice and lost. My next order will be placed with Indo Pacific though.

ipfs.com does a great job. I didnt order any brittle starts but I ordered a bunch of macro to feed my tangs, along with a coraline booster pack, their pod starter kit (saw plently of good sized pods in there) and a few snails. Everything arrived alive and is doing well. Packaging was great.

Temps have been decent in Chicagoland lately, though I did request a heat pack as its been freezing overnight which they did include.

good luck!

That's good to hear and makes me feel better about my next order. Thanks for sharing.
