mini skimmer for fish show

The Florida state fair is tommorrow and i am showing a 1.6 gallon pico reef.

But next years is 366 days away so i am thinking of a 5-10g nano reef. I am going to make my own skimmer since i cant find one that i want and that will fit for the money.

It will be submerged in the water and i wouold like to be about 6-7 in tall.The collection cup will be sticking out of the water.It is going to be driven by an air pump possibly.

I know that a skimmer for a 5-10 gallons sounds like a lot,but there will be 4-5 corals and 1-2 fish.

I was wondering if there was anything you thought of this and what i could do to improve it.I will put some pics along the way of my progress on the tank and other DIY stuff for the tank.

i have too, but the idea's there. I think they kinda pushed it out a bit before getting the kinks worked out
