Mini stars

I have what look like mini starfish white, climbing up my glass.

What are they? Are they bad?

It must be Asterina Star week. There has been a post or two every day for the last few days on these guys. Most are harmless algae grazers. Some can feed on corals. Their populations can get out of control. Best to keep an eye on them for now.

 

[AIMFish]

Asternia stars. Most are fine and eat coralline and other algaes but a few are bad. Watch were they hang out, that will usually tell you what they like to eat.
