miniature anemone

I was recently at the montery aquarium in CA and saw the most magnificent tank of live anemonies. If fact they were miniature anemonies in a pink and green and yellow color. They are small like the size of a quarter or less. I know they may be a pest but I want to set up a dedicated tank to these animals. does anyone know where I can get some of these? If you have any please post a picture to this thread. thanks

These are cold water Pseudocorynactis/Corynactis California. I belive it is indigenous to the California coast.

Shutiny is correct. Unless they have changed their philosophy, the Monterey Aquarium doesn't have any tropical tanks.
The little strawberry anemones are very pretty, but they need cold water. We are talking 60- low 70's.
There use to be a collecter in Los Angeles that specialized in selling cold water species to public aquariums around the country, but I don't think they are around anymore. The anemones would be difficult to come by unless you collected them yourself, but I'm not sure it is legal.

*Edit*
Hey I just noticed that Shutiny lives right near the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Pacific Grove is a beautiful little place.

Phil,

Phil,

M-Bay Aquarium has a beautiful 600g tropical tank and two or three small softie tanks now.
I live in Pacific Grave:) Lots old people here.

Not to go against what has been said, never having been to Monteray Aquarium, but their IS a dwarf tropical Carpet Anemony. They get about the size of a quarter or 50cent piece, and are green and yellow. I will see if I can remember to get a picture of one of mine.
