hey i am considering starting a new tank but before i choose its size i would like to know
minimum size tank for 1 niger trigger?

minimum size tank for 1 yellow tang?

minimum size tank for 1 foxface?

minimum size tank for 1 coral beauty angel?

and minimum size tank for 1 flame angel?

1 know this is a lot to ask sry! :)

I tend to stock lightly and give my fish alot of room to swim so I would go with something in the 6' /125g range for that list.

At a minimum, I would recommend a 4 ft. 90 gallon tank.
Better would be a 6ft. tank. Triggers and tangs are very active, so the longer swimming length you give them, the happier they will be.

ok thx....chances are i wouldnt put all of them together i was gonna chose on larger fish and then some smaller ones.....i think its the trigger who gets biggest if im not mistaken....ive read that yellow tangs can live in a 60 gal. long....and a dwarf angel in a 30-40 gal could work....but wat about the foxface? how big of a tank should he have?

also is there any kind of trigger that is small and can be kept in a tank somewhat smaller tank (like a 60-75gal) but is also easy to find in stores....i dont have many lfs around....they are all at least one town over :(

IMO/E, no. All of the triggers will outgrow that sized tank.

ok thx! hmmm what size tank is good for a niger trigger? or a pinktail? wat about a bursa arent they samller?
(i definately want a trigger but not sure which kind so syr for shooting all these questions at you :))

Min, 6 foot tank, but 8 would be better.

An LFS has a niger in a display tank, shocked at how big the fish his (( would guess about a foot )) and swims surprisingly fast, and uses all of the tank -- the tank is at least 10 feet long.

From seeing a few full grown Niger triggers as well as a few full grown pink tail trigger, I wouldn't recommend any tank smaller than 180, but that is just my observation. I have seen them at a public aquarium nearby and they get big(10"+ depending on the trigger). I personally wouldn't do anything smaller than a 240 gallon for a trigger. I will let the experts chime in some more on this but definantly 6' tank!

I would say a 125 gallon. They can get fairly big which is why they should be kept in a 125 gallon. They aren't active like tangs and triggers, but so your tank doesn't look puny I would say a 125.

I think it's it's important to note that "most" fish will never reach their maximum size in fish tanks, but their may out live their life expectancy. It's was noted in a recent Aquarium Fish International magizine that you should expect to get around 45%-91% of their max fish base with and average of 66% full grown. They also indicated that to be conservative one should consider 80% of they fish base for a target number when calculating; thus a fish that has a max size of 5" in they wild would expect maybe 4" an aquarium tank. I always expected this for fish, and now my suspicions of reduced size are verified in captivity.

I would agree. Also, Nigers have a wide variability of aggressiveness as they grow to reach their maximum of one foot in length. Very docile to spawn of satan. Still, one of the lesser aggressive triggers.

I don't totally agree with those numbers. Depends on many variables and making that level of specific generalization is somewhat flawed without a multiple regression with other variables such as feeding frequency, etc.

ok thx....i think i may pull a few strings and get a big enough tank to hold 1 bursa trigger as the only fish....what size tank do you recommend and does anyone have 1 and know anything i should know before i get one?
and thank you all for your help
