was looking at the deal on octopets as far as octo kit and was wondering what would be the minimum tank size be for one of these guys? I had an atlantic brown several years ago in a 29 gallon, but was wanting something a little smaller to put the next one in. Anyone ordered this kit? How did it fare?

I have kept lots of O.bimaculoides in a 30 gallon with no problem. There are other that have had the same species out grow a 40 gallon breeder.. Some specimens of the same species can grow larger than others mostly though genetics. The important thing is floor area and not so much height. A 29 gallon tank is 30" and thats 6" leess than a 30 gallon. I would really recommend a larger tank such as a 40 long and up for this species due to the chance you could get a specimen that grows larger than the average specimen. A 29 could be used but a back uop tank should be ready incase the specimen get too large for the tank. Octopuses are intelligent animals and providing them with room to roam is not only more enjoyable to the animals but more enjoyable to the owner to watch as well.
