minimum turn over for tanks

Yes temp is the easy one if the temp is the same then water chemistry should be too right ?

One could assume, but then the chemistry could be totally off or totally spot on. I guess I'm a testing kinda guy. I mean I even test my salinity in the sump and main DT when I add new saltwater. In theory, it should all match the same even with lower flow rates. I think 3-5 should be fine if you can get to that point.

Ok thanks

I think a lot of it is personal preference. I think my reasoning for slower flow through a sump would be to give time for the Skimmer and refugium to do their job cleaning the water. Since you have an external refugium I would just slow the turnover through that tank and shoot for 10x-15x through the sump. If there is a lower flow area of the sump I would place my skimmer there. Then get the rest of your DT flow through powerheads or closed loop.

Thanks.
