Has anyone actually has success with Denitrification using miracle mud in their aquarium? also what other benefits will using miracle mud give your aquarium. Thanks in Advance

There is the product page but it looks like it is written by a used car salesman.
I can not see why that would be more effective at de-nitrification than a regular fine grain argonite sand, does anyone know why they claim it?

I'm actually looking to prevent a nitrate problem before it happens by using two methods, water changes & miracle mud, instead of just doing water changes only

Miracle mud also implements the use of caulpera which I would be careful with. Good husbandry and a good skimmer will help
A lot. Miracle mud, from what I've read works like sand but replenishes trace elements in your system. If you use it, I would use chaeto as the macro rather than caulpera.

Is this for the eel / grouper tank?
Sulfur denitrators are supposed to work well. I don't have any personal experience with them. Here's a diy one, if you think that might be a fun project. Nothing too complicated.

Or remote deep sand beds are common. There's a thread called something like "dsb in a 5 gallon bucket" if you want to search the forum

The first link is chaeto. It's what I use in my refugium. Grows like crazy easy to take chunks out. If it gets in your display it's easy to get out. Doesn't stick to rocks. Some people run this on a reverse photo period, I just run 24/7

After looking into those two DIY projects, I think I'll go with the 5 gal dsb bucket first and then possibly add the sulfur denitrator in the future. Thank you so much for the suggestions
