mirrors as t5 reflector?

Give me your ideas on using a glass mirror inside a diy 8x54 light hood???

Flat white paint is a better reflector than glass mirror.

We use mirrors to see ourselves not because they reflect light efficiently, but because they reflect light accurately, so we can see ourselves.

With any T5 reflector, the reflector material itself makes very little difference. Getting the shapes of the curves to be correct is the whole key to the reflector working. It's also the most difficult part unfortunately.

The mirror will filter the light with each pass, that will be twice filtered. There are several threads here about this and they all come to the same end, Mirrors will not work well.

You can also paint it with glossy silver or gold, they are more efficient than white. You could line it with Aluminum foil too, remember one side is shinier than the other.

White is the most reflective color this is why now more and more commercial roofs are white instead of black

The glass will filter and change the light.

One reason t5s are so awesome is you can pack a bunch of bulbs in with individual reflectors. Flat reflectors behind a bunch of t5s is a waste. That said white would be much better than a mirror.
