Missing chalk goby

Ok, well i got a chalk goby on Friday. I had a blue cheek in my previous tank for 2 years (till i sold up and closed the tank down) . He made a little burrow and disappeared into it that night. Saw him chilling in said burrow the next morning around 6am. Then i went away till today. The burrow is empty as far as i can tell, and i cant find him, or any other burrows. I have searched around the tank for a jumper, but the lid is pretty well fitted. And i cant see him in the rear filter section, or a body anywhere. Do they often hide for long periods of time? My blue cheek was always very active and i assumed the chalk would be too? Any ideas?

In my experience burrow lurking gobiesare extremely reclusive and only venture out for food. Probably just hiding somewhere, these guys will go missing for long periods, I see my sulphur goby and tiger pistol maybe 3-4 times a week in just a 100 tank :L super boring for the most part tbh

Strange my old blue cheek was active all day. Pretty sure this guys vanished :( no sand be turned/moved at all. And no sign of the fishy
