missing? dead? nassuras snail?

i got one 1" nassuras snail a few weeks ago. he would come out for food and i would see him often, now the past week i havent seen him or any signs of his "tube eye" sticking above the sand.
he must be dead under the sand somewhere, but there is now way i can sift through my small tank (10g) sand without totally disrupting my corals and rock setup which is pretty full.
the water tests fine, so can he decay below without having a bad effect on my inhabitants?
or maybe hes not dead and its normal not to see them?

IMO he will not cause any ill effects if you have any hermits they will eat him if dead

i saw him just now. out of no where he just appeared back from the dead
thats a weird lil critter

I've gone 2 weeks before seeing some things sometimes, I just wait and see...

I've got about 5 nassarius that I never see during the day, but if I look an hour after lights out they are there. I think that one of my fish bothers them and they learned to come out after dark. I always heard that they will come a runnin' when the tank is fed - but they don't.
