Well today i implemented 2 fish to the aqauium Clown and yellow wrasse.
I have the lights on a reefmaster timer, as soon as the sun began to set the clown took off to a corner and began to chill and the wife noticed that the yellow wrasse was nowhere to be found.....Ive been checking now for 5 hours and have not seen him at all.
I tore apart the filter, nope...checked and cleaned the sump...nope...

Do they typicly hide at night? I do have 125lbs live rock. Ive boiled it down to him hiding or he is stuck in my 1" DIY overflow (small fish so i doubt it, and i checked the lines leading to it as they are clear).

:( if he would just call and let me know he was ok...lol

I have a tang that I can never find in the morning, and a wrasse that tucks into the sand. Not sure if your wrasse sleeps in the sand, but they are notorious for being hard to find in the tank when they don't want to be found. Very likely he's sleeping...possibly in the sand if you have any. :)

sleep sounds good, I do have 120 lbs of sand "bed"...wow... ok thanks for the reply. at least there is hope now he is still around and not in my sump drain

my wrasse disappears before my lights settle on my tank, and he is impossible to find. The first time he pulled this, I was terrified that he managed to jump out and got eaten by my cat, but sure enough, the next morning, there h was when the lights came on.

I have a friend that has a 24 gallon nano with 4 wrasses in it. When the lights are out you cant see a single fish and some are 4 inches. They are great hiders.

If you have a sump, try looking under the DT. You can usually find them pressed against the glass under the sand bed. That's what I do if I ever get worried with my 4 wrasse.

Yup, he was there in the morning swimming around like nothing was wrong. LOL been watching to see if he will tuck in the sand but just wonders about... my retarded clown doesnt want to leave the corner of the tank, he has been there all day. Thanks everyone, I had no idea they went into the sand at night, I managed to find a video of one on youtube and was impresssed by it!

Glad you found your Wrasse. As for the clown. They are goofy. Mine sleeps all night long flopping around at the surface right at the overflow wall. Seems the overflowing water keeps him in his little corner without too much effort on his part. When lights are out I know exactly where to look for him. Clown is right... lol
