Missing Limb

My Serpentine Star was fine when I went to bed last night, but this morning when I got up he was missing a limb. The only thing I can think of is that he either got into the water jets (but no pieces found) or someone ate it? I have a small Harlequin Shrimp? Could it eat of an entire limb?

Hymenocera (Harlequin shrimp) will not attack a serpent or brittle starfish. Infact serpent and brittles are the only starfish that can be kept with them. They don't have tube feet which is the only thing hymenoceras consume. My pair has been with 3 serpents for over a year without any issues.

If you have any emerald crabs or any crabs I'd blame them first.. however starfish legs do grow back.

A powerhead is a possibly. Besides.. if something was eating it they'd probably finish the job. ;)
