Missing pipefish

Hi guys!! I am new to this entire reef thing! I bought a four year old setup from someone. I added a banded pipefish last Saturday! It was doing really great but come Sunday morning no fish. What could have happened to him? I am so sad!

Any number of things could have happened to him, but did you check the sump (assuming you have one)? My bluestripe pipe took a ride down the overflow and had to be rescued. Also, pipefish are not the best beginner fish. They can be very picky about what they eat, and I believe they're more sensitive in general. I lost one of my two bluestripes about a week after I got her. She seemed healthy at first, but then stopped eating/swimming and died a couple days later.

If you're new, don't put ANYTHING in your tank without asking first on the board. Many fish stores will sell you almost anything and say its fine. There are a million reason your pipe may have gone missing including that its just behind your rocks. They can be quite cryptic.
