Missing Wrasse

Just check the floors. He might have jumped, but I'd imagine he has buried himself. My wrasse hid for weeks when I did some changes to my tank. Have you done anything recently that might have stressed him out?

Just my weekly water change. I did move a couple things around. I thought I might have moved a small rock over sand he might be buried in, but moved the rock and stirred up the sand, and no fish.

Last time mine went missing, I tore apart my rock work. It was dead in the cracks of the rock. When it was alive I did notice it sleeping in it's bubble in the rocks. Other fish that were missing we're found in the overflow. Had a Blenny live in the back chamber for two weeks.

So the bad news is my Wrasse is dead. I found what appeared to be what was left of a fish, in the very back corner of my rock. It had only been missing 2 days, but I'm sure my shrimp had his way with it. The good news is I found a dead spot behind my rock that had accumulated some nasty stuff. So i vaccumed it all out, and aimed one of my return lines at the dead spot (could have been part of my nitrate problem). The great news is I found my long lost Yuma stuck to the back of a rock! Stoked!

It still seems weird that a perfectly happy fish would just up and die all of a sudden...

Sorry for the loss, but mystery solved. Missing fish bothers me. At least you found the Yuma. I always find little pieces of rics or zoas when tearing apart the rocks.
