missing Xina cuttings

Last night I trimmed back my pulsing Xina, and attached the cuttings to small rocks with super glue. This morning they are gone. I can not find them anywhere. I at the point of considering pulling all the rocks out just see if they are hiding. Is it possible they were eaten by one of the LPS that were close to where they sat? I am perplexed, but I do not want to pull all the rocks just to check.

Anyone have anything like this happen to them before?

You can't glue xenia, since it always slimes off. You can try putting netting veil over it or letting it sit in a low flow area until it attaches it self. It's possible that the xenia just dissolved, that's happened to me, but only in a bowl and never in the tank.

most softies, as xia said, aren't mountable using superglue. i've used the green plastic containers that you get strawberries in to hold frags. a little bit of lr rubble, the coral, and low flow or bridal veil over the top and you should be good to go.

Cotton thread or rubber bands are my favorite methods for mounting musrooms and xenia.

If you can find some netting that provides plenty of flow, using that to mount over the xenia and securing it with a rubberband works well too.

Though it is a little tricky to do......I have superglued it many a times......

I have some that I am going to cut out....if you want some more to try again......big stuff......insta colony

I have more than I need, but thank you. I cut this stuff for trading purposes, and I still have way more that I could cut in my tank.

Yeah, Im starting not to like the stuff much....gets in the way....I have been thinking of dumping it into the sump.....since I have a baremottom tank, the light passes through now....since I have 250's over a 75g I can probably get away with some lower light stuff in there with out need an additional light.
