we can't offer extensions, too long cables on the DC side will possibly void the approvals for the PSU

Hi,

I don't understand what is "possibly void the approvals for the PSU". Due to the placement I have with Mitra, it's hard for me to put the ballast close to light fixture that's why I was asking if you have any extension cord to use for from light fixture to ballast.

The power supply manufacturer has a set limit as to how long the cable can be as anything longer can incur stresses on the ballast due to current flow restrictions. Just like a home extension cable the longer it is the higher current rating the cord must be.

For this reason GHL can not make extensions without voiding the testing approvals of the power supply.

When a power supply goes through approvals for electrical safety it is tested to a certain cable length. Above that you take the power supply out of its approved rating.

Ok, so the only way to do it is to extend the power supply of ballast to closer to Mitras?

The only way to extend is to use a power cord extension from your wall socket to the plug of the input to the ballast. You can not extend from ballast to mitras.
