I just received two new Mitras 6200 that I will be putting over a 75g tank. My instinct is to mount them parallel to the length of the tank. Would there be any advantage or disadvantage to mount them perpendicular to the tank length? There is a centre brace on the top of the tank. Thanks.

Given the dimensions of your tank, the Mitras would be best positioned like this: --- ---
Mounting them like this: | | may end up causing excessive light spill. Of course it depends on how high off the water you hang the fixtures.
