Mixed Berry Chalice

I ordered one of your DFS Mixed Berry Chalice frags, and I know that on your site you say that all corals are kept under 400 watt halides. However, I have heard mixed reports on what lighting is best for these corals. I was wondering if you kept them in direct lighting...I also have 400 watt halides (supplemented by two 65 watt actinic PCs) on a 60 gallon cube (24" deep). I have several areas that are shaded, but I also have spots that are not. I was just wondering what you guys have found with your specimens as far as placement is concerned. My shipment will arrive tomorrow, and I wanted to have a spot ready for it in advance Thanks!

Bluetmax,

Thank you for your excellent questions regarding the Mixed Berry Chalice Coral. This particular specimen prefers a medium amount of lighting along with a moderate water flow. When placed under metal halides, it is best to keep the Chalice Coral at the bottom of the aquarium or towards the middle under some shade. This coral can be placed in the sand or on rock as long as it is properly secured to the surface you are using to attach the specimen.
