Still planning......I'm not going to have a deep sand bed in my new tank (75RR) maybe 2"........Question about placement of Live Rock.....on sand bed.?......The way I have my 38 gal setup now is with 4" PVC....as like little stand to support the live rock.......I haven't seen any problem with the way I have it now........But have read that several people say just to place the rock right on the sand...some people say use base rock to support the LR off the glass.....Also heard of people using eggcreate ...........Suggestion needed...?
TIA
Brian

try to use tonga branch rocks. get a few pieces and lay them in the sand, make sure the branches are in the sand (main support). With the branches sticking out everywhere, it will leave nice cup like sections that will hold the more rounded or what not pieces securely.

Check ur PMs Brain, I need the parts please. :)

Never made a difference for me, now I just put them right on the sand making sure there is enough room for water movement tanking into consideration my returns, it looks more natural.

Hi I would try & get the rock right down onto the glass bottom. Then if you add any gobies or such, you won't have to worry about the rock work being undermined

ya i agree with 45commando. if you end up doing a sand sifting, digging type fish, itd be terrible for it to all collapse on you, scratching the tank, or even worse breaking(has happened dozens of times to others)

i had a leopard wrasse on my fish list,. but decided against it because im too afraid of that happening(they bury themselves at night) i wish i placed my rocks on the bottom, too late now though.
