Mixing Angels

I just wanted to get someones opinion on keeping different species of angle fish in a reef tank.
I recently bought a Coral Beauty, It's been in my 75 gal for the last 3 month.
After rediscovering the hobby again, I fell in love with all the different types of angelfish. Long story short, I have a Coral Beauty, A Blue Face in the same tank. No problems to report. I'm adding a Majestic in a few days.
I've been told that keeping the same species can be trouble.
Anybody out there had any experience in this?

It is tough to say. Some have successes, and some aren't so lucky. It really depends on a multitude of factors. Mainly, the tank size (yours which the Blue Face will easily outgrow), individual fishes temperament, and how healthy the fish is when introduced.

I believe a key component of being successful in mixing angels is having any new additions QT'd for a long time prior to introduction and having them very fat and healthy. Simply dropping a new angel into a system with an existing established angel is a recipe for disaster.

In my opinion, with a 75 gallon tank I would not add another large angel.

Good advice. Yes, your (OP) tank is not large enough for a blue face let alone another large angel. Do NOT add the majestic.

all of that in a 75g? you will be lucky with the fish you have if they don't get to aggravated , i was thinking about doing an angelfish tank and i would be lucky to get a blue face in a 180 for life let alone a 75

I have a potters and a multibar in my tank and they get on fine. I would of thought you should also stick to dwarfs in a 75g.

I had a flame angel in my 90 gallon for a few years then I added a half black and they were fine. But, the half black was a terror and nipped at everything, so I pulled him. I just recently pulled my flame for nipping. He wasn't nipping at everything, but enough. Good leck with angels in your reef.
