Mixing BT trigger and Swollows tail angels

I have been researching Genicanthus alot, looking at probably a pair/trio of watanabe angels in my next tank. However i was wondering whether i would encounter any problems if i were to add a small/similar sized blue throat trigger (X. auromarginatus) to the tank as they both seem to eat zooplankton? All fish will be eating frozen food/pellets when i purchase them.

Bluethroats are extremely passive. I have a male in my 180 that could care less about any other fish in the tank, whether they eat plankton or not.

As long as the tank is big enough you should be completely fine.

I actually have a male blue throat with male swallowtail angel and I have no problems in my 200 gallon. The trigger is definitely the more passive fish, doesn't bother anything. Had a female blue throat as well until she jumped last week.

I will say a smaller (5 inches or less) is very unlikely to be an issue with any fish....But remember Bluejaws do get up to 8 inches or so, it just takes a while. A big Trigger is a potentially aggressive Trigger. My 8 inch Male Crosshatch (very closely related to the Bluejaw) is very nasty when he wants to be.

I'm not saying it won't work, frankly I wouldn't be afraid of the combo...I'm just saying anybody whom says a Male Bluejaw is "passive", probably doesn't have an adult.

I just put my zebra angel in a week ago, and i have a blue jaw in a 210. The only agression from the blue jaw so far is when the angel gets too close to his cave.

cool thank you, thats what i thought but i figured it would be better to know for certain with these things.
