Mixing butterflys

The Fish Finder

I have been offered a butterfly that i have always liked and at a very reasonable price. It is a Banks Butterflyfish (Prognathodes aya). My issue is that i already have in the tank a Orange Margin Butterflyfish (Prognathodes basabei). Though quite a few people have told me that they will work together i don't want to risk the fish fighting and losing my orange margin. From what everyone is telling me butterfly's don't fight with each other except the raccoons. Any input will be welcomed. It's kind of hard to decide because there is no info on how the orange margin will react.

I'd a pair of Semilarvatus and was doing well the first couple of months, eating corals and swimming together then went downhill after that. Someone here mentioned that if it's not a true pair especially of the same sex they will fight. After one died I added a Tinkeri, Declivis and Bugess that was okay for a while but eventually the Burgess got very aggressive and constantly picking fights with the Declivis. Now the Burgess has started picking on a few of the angels. I must have a evil Burgess because I never read anything about them being so aggressive but it will be coming out soon when I get a chance to move the rocks to catch it.

Chaetodon species, especially those that look similar, will generally fight to some extent, depending on various factors like tank size, IME. I have no experience with Prognathodes species, though...
