Mixing clown gobies

I have been researching the clown gobies as a possible addition to my nano and recently read your article. I'm wondering are any compatibilty problems with mixing different varieties of clown gobies together. I noticed they are often kept this way in retail tanks but wasn't sure if they would be content together over a long period of time.

Also are you able to recommend any sources for captive bred clown gobies?

Thanks, Laura

hi laura

as with any fish, the personalities will differ. in most cases i would say you can easily mix several species. however, there are always those particular fish that are testy, and do not like tank mates. i'd say you are safe mixing most clown goby species. if you notice one becomes the aggressor, you could simply remove that one fish.

FWIW, i had a 29g with 4 clown gobies (3 species) and all got along just fine. i think a larger tank or a tank with enough suitable cover would only make mixing species easier.

i am not aware of any source that is captive breeding clown gobies.
