i have a pair of black footer clowns in my tank. i just rescued a pair of false percs. the main tank is a 135 gal. can they be mixed or do the percs have to go to the sump until i can find them a home
I have a pair of A.nigripes in a H.magnifica and a pair of a.polymnus in a S. haddoni. Both pairs of clowns are in the same 4 foot tank but the magnifica is on one side and towards the top of the tank and the haddoni is on the opposite end and at the base of the tank. The nigripes rarely stray more than 6 inches from their anemone whereas the polymnus tend to roam around the tank. Only when the polymnus get a little too close to the magnifica is there any trouble but even then it's usually a bit of posturing and sounding off. Never anything more serious.
I've had success with mixing different clowns if introduce them to the tank at the same time. I tried introducing a pair of semi picassos to my 300 gallon with an already establish pair of black clowns, and it didn't work out. I had to remove the picassos and put them into my frag tank which already has a pair of naked clowns. The naked clowns were not happy.
