Mixing Clowns

Could you mix a black saddleback and a maroon together? My gut says the answer is no, but someone told me that it can be done. Not as like a pair or anything but have the two in the same tank with their own anemones if you know what i mean.

Saddles and maroons are probably the last two types I'd want to even attempt mixing - AFAIK they're two of the largest, meanest, most territorial clown species. If you're hoping to add saddles to the tank in your sig, I'd say it's too much of a risk - a 55g isn't nearly large enough for two pairs of clowns IMO.

I have a dozen different clownfish (in separate tanks) - no way in the world would I try and mix a maroon with anything. My rule of thumb after getting bit too many times to count - if it is red it is gonna be mean!

I have 3 pairs of maroons in three separate tanks....the one pair I have in my 10g. tank are very friendly...I'm even able to pet the female during feeding...the pair in my 55g which is mixed with other fish are very shy and the female has bit me on occasion....so it depends...

55g-GSM=shy
10g-GSM=friendly, by themselves
29g-WSM=too new to tell....just a month together by themselves

Yeah, my maroon is very well behaved. . .until there is another clown in the tank. My failed attempt at pairing (plan was good, execution just didn't go quite as planned) really opened my eyes to how mean these fish can be. I don't have any experience with maroons and saddlebacks, but yeah, I'd trust your gut on this one. It'd be a good fight, though.
