Mixing Colors..

I have a 40 breeder, and have a fixture with a 250 watt halide in the center. I am going to add two 150 watt halides beside this one. I was wondering if it would look extremely weird if i ran a 10k bulb on the 250 watt, and 20k' bulbs with the 150 watts'. I want the fast growth, and the blues, and I don't have room for actinic's. Would this work, or just look stupid?

It might look a little strange, at least to my way of thinking. That is a LOT of light for that sized tank.

why dont you just go with the 2x150?i had 2x150 on a 75g and had great growth

Yea, I thought it may be over kill also. I may try to get two of the 70 watt viper clip ons instead of two 150's.

I just don't have the time or money to build another canopy for the tank, install the 150's, and have to worry about actinic supplementing...
