Mixing crab types. Also question about crab health

Is this ok? Hermits and non, etc. I have a hitchhiker I'm pretty sure is a porcelain and already have 2 thin stripe hermits in the tank.

Also how much do I need to worry about disease with crabs? If at all. Do I need to quarantine? Do I need to worry about cycling the tank before adding crabs?

Trying to figure out crab care vs reef/fish care.

Inverts never catch disease. No treatment or quarentine required. Treatment will kill them.

Mixing crabs is perfectly fine. Just beware some of the larger more destructive ones like calico, arrow, etc.

They're pretty straight forward, only thing is that they are very oppertunistic meaning if they're hungry, and food is infront of them whether it's a fish or coral they'll try to snag it. Some crabs have an easier time doing this like arrows but usually emeralds are primary algae eaters and hermits are too small and bulky to atempt it. Porcelain crabs are absolutely harmless as they are filter feeders, and pom pom crabs are pretty harmless as well as they also filter feed.

sorry to bud in but do you all know of this hermit crab is reef safe? In know nothing about hermit crabs lol

You do need to cycle before adding crabs. Some of them are hardy enough to survive cycling, but the ammonia on their gills is likely painful, and some of them won't survive.
