Mixing Evansi and Sunburst Anthias?

Was planning on mixing a single Sunburst with maybe 4-5 Evansi Anthias in my 120g?

should they be ok? Haven't really found anything on this two breads being mixed. Thanks

Do you mean Sunset Anthias? Evansi require more care and more feedings. I accidentally got some but I got them eating Nutrama Ova and Cyclopeeze.

I'm assuming you mean Fatheads (Serranocirrhitus latus). I have a group of 5 with Bartletts, Dispar and Pascalus. The big issue with Fatheads is getting them to eat initially, but once you do, they are typically pigs. You should be fine mixing as long as you have good rock cover and you add the Fathead first, or thru a two week stint in an acclimation box.

Yah I was refuring to the fat head. Cool I was hoping the fat head should be introduced first. I'm kinda having a hard time getting the Evansi locally.

Do the fatheads tend to do better solo or as a pair? I have one in Quarintine but their is another available at the other LFS that's a touch bigger then the one I already got.

Also if I should pick up the other one should I add it to the same Quarintine tank with the fathead I all ready have or Quarintine they in separate tanks?

Bump.

I'm guessing they are like most other Anthias. Would be fine solo but tend to be in small groups yah?

Actually, they are not anthias despite the common name. Now that said, if you have more than 125/150G then you should be fine with a small group, say, 3, without an issue. IMO, they do better as a pair/group than as individuals. Be wary that you do not get two males. Males being more prominently orange and with a neanderthal-eque bump on the mid-forehead. Females are much more pink.
