Mixing station Question

Another Day In Paradise
The salt is on the left side, how far up should I go to drill my hole for the mixing pipe ? The tanks are 5 ft tall.

I would route the pipe all the way up to the top and come into the center top of the tank. Easy to adjust a downspout to modify the height as you want to then.

You probably shouldn't listen to me; I would also be unable to resist painting the pipes brass and putting red LED under one and blue LED under the other one.

Very nice, you're living the dream!

I have mine enter near the top of the tank so it encourages as much movement as possible when mixing. It is typically even above the water level so the water splashes down and gives even more agitation

same tanks. Here's mine. Since I use 100 gal ESV - I fill the salt with 88 gallons of water and end up with around 91 gallons at the end of the day. It consistently mixes to 35 PPT. I dont even use the salinity refractometer anymore.

Your dealing with some curvature at the top. I recommend it has to be as high as possible - while also able to make a good seal with the bulkhead (flat surface). So if you have a bulkhead already - put it up against the tank to see where it can lay flat. Your allowed maybe another 1/4" higher once you find that spot.

Is that your final spot for the tanks? in front of the window? Not recommended. Those will grow algae there.

Also - on first fill - mine had a tremendous build up of static electricity - enough to knock me on my *** when I touched the bulkhead. so I wouldn't recommend the carpet either as a final spot. If you look in the bottom of my picture - you'll see some green wire - I stripped off a foot of insulation, wrapped the exposed wire around the bulkhead and drilled a screw into the floor to dissipate the static buildup - lesson learned there.

Thanks Ted

I have 2 return lines one at top and one at middle pointing down to bottom of Tank. Top one creating spin action. Valve on each to control how much water moves from each
