mixing tangs???

Can I mix a naso tang and a yellow belly tang in same tank? I have a 150 gallon setup....?????:rolleye1:

I have a powder blue and purple in the same tank. Hard to say, you can never tell with some fish. One think I would try and do is introduce the docile one first or if you don't have a choice both together.

well the yellow belly is currently in my tank. I would be adding the naso.

You can mix tangs, and even those two, but I wouldn't put them both in a 150. The naso will get way too big. I would suggest a yellow tang or one of the smaller, more docile acantharus like a convict or mimic.

well i was going to take it off a friends hand because it is outgrowing his 55.

Well, a 150 is better than a 55, that's for sure. How big is it now?

i was thinking about trading in the yellow belly for a powder blue. would that be better with the naso?

Probably not, powder blues have a reputation of being very aggressive. If you wanted to keep one tang that would work out, but nasos are pretty mellow overall so a pbt isn't a very good tankmate unless it is a really large system.
