Mixing wrasses in a 75 gal

I'd like to mix an exquisite fairy, a yellow coris, and another fairy or flasher (undecided, will do whatever works best). Other inhabitants are a pair of O. clowns, a molly miller blenny, and a firefish. I'd like to add a coral beauty and longnose hawkfish after the wrasses (maybe, I'm undecided about the aggressiveness of the hawkfish).

The wrasses are the priority for the rest of my stocking and I'm wondering if this mix will work in a 75. I'm hoping someone with wrasse knowledge will weigh in. I posted in "New to the Hobby" and got a couple of contradicting opinions.

TIA

Cindy

You have a lot of choices when it comes to compatible wrasses. The exquisite and yellow will get along fine. Pretty much any flasher will work in the mix (except for maybe the 8-lined) and many of the other fairies will work. IME, some types of fairies can be nasty with other fairies, so select carefully and read up on them before purchasing.

Other wrasse options are possums and pink-streaked. They stay small and are very peaceful, but can be cryptic.

Whatever you decide on, don't get two of the same species. They'll likely eventually fight to the death in an effort to become the dominant one.

I can't link to it, but user 'evolved' has written a guide to wrasses. Google 'all about reef safe wrasses'

Love my wrasses! I have the same size tank with 2 T/P Clowns, Midas Blenny, Fire fish and for the Wrasses I have a Melanarus, Filamented Fairy, and a Red Margin. The Clowns are hosting the over-flow and stay mostly around there, the Midas spends most of the time poking his head out of his cave and the Fire Fish spends most of the time hiding. If it weren't for my Wrasses the tank would look void of life and desolate. They swim all over the tank and are very active, especially the Melanarus, he's always on the hunt for pests picking at the rocks all the time.

Thank you for the link! I'll look for that now.

Thanks for the info, I was hoping to hear from someone with the same size and similar stocking as I have/hope to have. Sounds like I have a good chance at making it work.
