mj mod for skimmer??

I was looking at the thread for the mj mod kit for greater flow. Will this mod kit work for a bac pac skimmer, or is the flow to great through the skimmer to work?

You wouldn't be able to hook it up to the skimmer. If you want more flow, you'd need to go with an Eheim or something.

The maxi-jet mod on the other thread will not help a Backpac skimmer. But this one will. Just drill the holes in the bottom, don't cut the return off.

Do you think that would work under a slight pressure though? I did that to some of mine in the frag tanks and sump but no resistance on them. I know that on pressure rated pumps the housings are tighter fit to keep a forward motion to the water and that may take away from the pressure for head loss etc.

I guess to test it you could hook one with and one w/o and a hose to it and see how high they each pump the water.
