MJ Mod

Their stuff looks really professionally built. I'd go with that rather than a hacked up piece of PVC if it were in my tank. Plus $26 is virtually nothing compared to a $300 Tunze. You might get enough interest in the B'ham area to get a group order placed. They might cut you a price break.

I am currently planning on 4 myself, 2 for me, 1 for my boss, and another for his son. We discussed getting boss man to pay half, in exchange for me doing the work, or letting the boss man buy one, so I could get a better look at it and DIY the other three. The website is a lil lacking on good photos and instructions(IMO)/at least the DIY instructions on reefchili/mjmods*com, but the threads in the DIY forum are too much. NOT trying to get another DIY thread started here, just wondering if anyone has tried the DIY method with success. I think with having one of their kits in my hand I could probably take my time and make it look almost as professional, plus schedule 80 PVC is close to the same color gray as MJ housing. I haven't priced the DIY method either, so I don't know how much I could save doing three or more of them. Anyway, I'm rambling now I think, so I'll shut up for now. Thanks!

I have two of their mods, both work great with a little fine tuning. I started to do it myself but when it came down to it I was spending more time and money then buying it so I bought it. That happens a lot in the DIY world. Mine works so well that I had to cut down to just one in my 55g and even then it could of been to much. On my 150 I plan on running a closed loop and one MJ mod, maybe both if it can handle it. The one thing that made me buy the mod is that you have to get all the measurements correct or the unit will not work because the magnets will touch.
