Mj900 & Bta

How worried should I be if my BTA decided to go exploring and ended up on sitting on the side of my MJ900? Are the intake screens for an MJ900 fine enough that the base won't get hurt? The anemone is about 6" in diameter and about 3-4" at the base. This guy has been stationary for a few weeks and decided to go roaming last night so I checked to see where he ended up this morning. I was running late for work, so I didn't have time to remove him. Should I have shut the pump off? I don't think he moved due to light since I have a 175w 14k halide over a 20g and he actually started moving at night. I'll check parameters when I get home tonight.

dude are you serious turn that pump of and get the anemone off of it an injury to the foot will kill the nem oh man.. can you run home for lunch???

I got permission from the boss to work from home this afternoon, so I will be home in about 2 hours. I hope there's no damage. I was afraid to turn the pump off because I didn't want to reduce flow for the other stuff. As I was driving into work, I realized that was a dumb idea.

Once he's removed, I'm going to get to work on some covers using 1-1/2" PVC and endcaps. Kind of like a reverse MJ mod I guess.

Yippie! I called the wife to try to talk her through unplugging the pump. She said there wasn't anything on the pump but some snails. The anemone has crawled back down and is behind the rocks. From her description, he sounds like he's uninjured. At least I get to leave the office for a 1/2 day though. I'll get to work on the covers. Has anyone tried a mod like I described above before?

Yeah. This will definately change my new tank design. I have a 1" intake on there now for the closed loop that just has a normal 3"x1" strainer running about 800gph. I'm going to build a box around it now before I get it up and running.
