mmm what u think of purple up?

dont think its the right forum, but i use it. I have seen more coraline. Im not sure if it was just because of natural stuff or because of the purple up. My gf had great results with purple up.

although i heard it is just basically crushed up sand....

dont over use it, it will clog your pumps if your cal gets to high.

The mods need to make a purple up sticky... This question pops up all the time and usually gets the same mixed responses. Honestly, whether it works or not there is no need for it. Just maintain alk, magnesium, and calcium and you'll have more coraline than you know what to do with.

thank u!!

Waste of money in my opinion, also a few local reefers in my club have reported cyno and dino breakouts. Two common factors appeared when looked at closely, purple up and the use of pappone......

What that means? I don't know but I would stay away from it lest it spike something nasty in your tank.

Just wanted to add that you can achieve the same results naturally. What Peter Eichler says is right on the money, "Just maintain alk, magnesium, and calcium and you'll have more coraline than you know what to do with." Just keep them stable and consistant. Knock on wood, my live rocks are encrusted solid with deep and bright purple pink coralline. Want to speed up the process, place some rocks in your refugium if it is lite 24/7. Your coralline will take off like you wouldn't believe.

Just my 2 cents.
