Mod for Stock hood on 36 Bow

So I have been keeping a FOWLR for many years and I'm wanting to get into easy beginner corals in my 36 bow tank. Is it possible to modify my stock strip light from AGA for better T5 bulbs or do I need a whole new hood? The tank is in my bedroom and space is limited as far as around and over the tank. Any ideas would be appreciated.

there are some sites that allow you to retro your hood. Like ahsupply.com

Yes, the Ahsupply kits are quite nice.

the light I have for sale In This Thread (item #2 for $50) is one I used an AHSupply kit to convert. Really quality reflectors and ballast

It takes a little bit of time to do the conversion though
