I want to know if there is anyone that will get offended if I ask the staff if I can be one of the (SCMAS) forums Moderate's there are no Moderate's in Colorado that I can see. I just want to ask my club before I ask. I'm going to do a (YES) or (NO) poll. if you say NO then I ask why.

Not sure why it needs a moderator. There already plenty on RC. I think its fine the way it is. Im not gonna be offended if you ask but my vote is a no.

Alright I'll be the first one to say it, I'd suggest getting a spell checker first, I really can't understand what you are saying, I'd think the prerequisite of a mod would be being able to type halfway well.
Other than that who are you? I can't say I've ever seen you post here before (or since I've been on anyway)
Don't take this the wrong way but this post seems a little off to me for some reason.

No, I have not been posting on this forum I just moved to Colorado from Texas and be came a member of SCMAS. And NO I cant spell that good but DON'T look down on a man for that there's lot of people out ther that can't do things good and I'm sure there are things you cant do to and no one call's you on it...

I believe it takes years of significant contributions to Reefcentral
before one would even be considered to become a moderator.
You can ask if you like, but considering you are in the
"business" I would imagine they would say no.
People who have been involved in Colorado Reefing for years have inquired to become a moderator and have been declined.

Not looking down on you, I've never met or talked to you before here, so that's why I threw in the "don't take it wong" comment :)
It's kind of like a guy with a bum knee trying out for the lakers, or a guy that has a speech impediment wanting to become president, it's going to be tough to win us over I think. Why do you want to be our boss? Why should we trust you with our forum?
These are the thing's I think you'd want to sell us on, or at least wait till you've been to a meeting or something, don't you think?

You know i'm not even sure what you are wanting is possible is it? I didn't know anybody could ask to be a mod and get it?
Chris

No...you cannot become a moderator for the forum. RC has guidelines for Mods and they wouldn't let anyone in SCMAS police our own forum.

Thats strange. Geo is listed as a Mod. for CORA and he is a member...

I forgot to say I think there are plenty of Mods already. I can't think of a time that there isn't at least one online, and thats comming from someone who used to work nights and was online in the truly slow hours on RC.

I don't know what CORA is, but according to the admin that some of us consulted after the Tominicane debacle, there is a group one must become a member of before Mod consideration will be given. My guess is Geo (who I am unfamiliar with) is part of this group and he most likely moderates other forums...I could be wrong regarding his status, but I know this to be the case regarding how to become a mod.

It just so happens that I still have the PM from the admin I consulted...

Folks who get noticed get asked to be a part of TRC. When we need to back fill moderator positions folks from TRC get "promoted." That being said, we don't allow moderators or staff members to moderate club forums within their local area. It's just a bad idea.

Yes - but he's not allowed to get involved in local issues. That's a general rule throughout RC. Likewise I'm not allowed to moderate in my local club forum.

It just works better that way.

Cheers

Well, he asked first and now he knows, as do we all. Never hurts to ask, plus this forum is one huge community, I am sure there are a lot of threads that have be looked in on from time to time. But with so many members, I bet they have a line of people wanting to do this.

Thanks for stopping by again beerguy, almost 17,000 posts, hehe. You are everywhere.
