Modifying current sump, need opinions

I currently have a 40g Long for a sump with three chambers (skimmer/return/fuge). I have to move the baffles around due to a new skimmer. This will reduce the fuge area. I was thinking of adding a 15g High tank (20x10x18) and use that as a refugium that will drain into the smaller refugium in the sump. I could use the 15g as a dsb or pod area and have chaeto in the chamber of the 40g.

Is this worth doing on a 180g? Any concerns? Sorry for the quick diagram.
