I have a idol that was being picked on by my powder blue for like a month after which I noticed the idol was getting thin but I'd always see him eat. I figured he wasn't getting enough food so I caught and put him in part of the sump that I use for holding fish and coral hoping that with no competition he'd be able to fatten up again but he still doesn't seem to be filling out. So for the last 4 days I've been given him medicated food for parasites. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you ever seen stringy white poo come out of him?
Idols are fickle fish. I've had specimens that were doing great, eating well, and then another fish starts displaying aggression towards them. That can cause them to go into a corner, stop eating, wither away & die. I'm finding they do best in schools.

My idol eats Hikari "Seaweed Extreme" medium size sinking pellets all day long. Been in the tank going on three years and has grown and has good weight. It's a fish tank not a reef tank so he also eats the plankton and most of what the other fish eat but the Hikari is his main food by choice.
As usual, your mileage may vary.
I feed him different kinds of pellets(spiralena, shrimp, probiotic, spectrum) nori and frozen food. I never had a problem with him before. I actually had to put my fish on a diet bc they were putting on too much weight. Something just doesn’t seem right with him and I can’t figure it out.
