Mole Crabs/Sand Fleas

Has anyone ever tried to keep these in a reef tank? I fish with them every winter on the Florida coast, and have thought about bringing a few back, but due to the fact they live in the surf, I have never attempted to put any in a tank. Has anyone tried it though? Or will I have to be the first in a few weeks?

think about where they live. these guys feed by either filtering out particles from the water as it flows by them or by grabbing particles & small animals moving in the water. Unless you have a dedicated tank with a wave system you won't be able to duplicate the habitat and they'll be unlikely to survive.

i didn't try and put them in a reef tank, but if you take a nanocube and direct the flow of water towards the bottom, i was able to keep them for a long time!

they would've lived longer if i wasn't trying to feed my mantis, lol

my spiny lobster also loved them!
