Mollies in an Ich tank?

Would be mollies be susceptible to Marine Ich if I added them to my 125gal? It's been about 4-5 weeks, running void of any fish, and the few hermits/snails in there aren't cutting the mustard keeping the algae down. Looked for an answer but couldn't find anything, not sure if it's fish in general or only saltwater fish that Ich would attack?

My guess, and only a guess would be all fish fresh or salt can get ich. The fresh water ich is different, which would lead me to think that you couldn't bring ich to the tank from a brackish or freshwater fish. But if the fish can live in the sw the ich will live off of the fish. I would give it another week or so though, the ich in your system may not all be dead. And future QT would be worthless if ich had been sustained.

Yea, that's kind of what I put together as well, all Marine Ich needs a host to burrow into, fed and release new cysts. Not sure if the way saltwater fish 'absorb' water through the skin rather then drink water like freshwater fish do has anything to do with it.

Either way, it's seems like risk, an unnecessary one at that, and unless someone can definitely say it's fine to, I'm not going to try and see.
