monopod recomendations?

looking to get a decent monopod, something lightweight that i can take hiking.

never used one before....but seems like it would make more sense than getting an expensive tripod at this point.
 
For hiking, I personally think it would make more sense getting an expensive tripod. That is what expensive tripods are for. Here is another bump though.
 
Tripods and monopods serve two different purposes, and the market is wide open on price and weight and heights all boils down to personal preference and how much you wanna spend.
 
I've used my Manfrotto 190MF3 Tripod way more than my monopod, but....

the one I have is a Manfrotto 685B NeoTec Monopod, I like that it can be adjusted using one hand.

Wish I had the equvalent in a tripod sometimes. The carbon fiber does weigh less though.
