Monrovia Surgeonfish

Anyone have one of these?
I picked on up locally for really cheap right now he is about 3".
His tail is infected and has severe fin rot (bacterial infection I think). I've been treating with melafix, and pimifix. The treatment seems to be working and the fish is now aggressively eating, picking at rock, and is swimming in the open now.

It seems not to many people keep them, probably because of their size. I have a 275 8' x 30" x 24".

The only good pics I can find on the fish:

The pic on bluezoo is a really nice looking fish, and the ones on fishbase don't seem as nice. Has anyone seen a large one of these in person?

Really I'm just looking for any kind of feedback on this fish.

We got one in at the LFS I used to work at only because we ordered an achilles tang and they sent one of these, little bit of false advertising there... Cool looking IMO, and care shouldn't be any different than any other tang. You have a good tank for it too.

Pretty IMO, like a blacked out Sohal tang.

I think why you don't see them much, is that they're an African fish. How many H. africanus do you see regularly? And because they're western African, their price. People don't want to spend $250 on a brown tang.

AS tcm pointed out, care shouldn't be difference from any other tang.
