On a TV show on HGTV tonight named "Look What I Did!", Helen and Roy Givens of Spokane WA, Decided to go for the gusto! Helen told Roy she wanted a 6th marine aquarium. Roy answered with, Lets build one aquarium to put the other 5 tanks into.
I forget all the sizes for sure but I know the height was 10 feet and the depth was 8 feet and I think the width was 9 feet. They have 3 sumps that are 300 gallons each. Looking at their system was amazing. The tank had 10 inch concrete walls and I think it was a 4 foot thick base with a 3 inch thick acrylic front. They said they used cases of silicone to seal the acrylic window.
They thought it was going to be $20K to $30K. Instead it took them a year to design, a year to build themselves and over $100,000. The aquascaping is beautiful.
We better not let Paul see it or else Lynn may get a little bothered. But then again, they did mention that the pool may one day have salt water in it. hahahaha
