No, not monster size but monster of my reef! I woke up to find this horror this morning. My Scolly is eating my pepermint shrimp! I believe the shrimp was healthy before this(but not anymore). I had no idea that a scolymia would take a healthy animal like this. I wish I was awake to see what really happened last night. Was it an epic battle? Was the scoly just open and looking for food and caught an unsuspecting shrimp? Or maybe the shrimp was about to die and the scoly just got lucky, I just don't know but WOW was i supprised to see this.

I have had this scoly for a year now and never seen it eat anything but mysis or pellets that I feed the tank. Anyway I thought I would share this with all of you because it is prety cool. Guess I'll be heading to the LFS to get a new pepermint shrimp.:strange:

I'm also using this as an oppertunity to learn how to insert pics in a post. if this doesnt work I'll try again or maybe someone will help me out. thanks for looking.

You're sure he didn't just catch a floating molt? I've had my nems do that with crab molts before.

I had the same thought and have been looking for the shrimp. As of yet I don't see it but that doesn.t mean much they're prety good hiders.

Anyway no sense ruining a good horror story with the truth. Right?:)

Lol, queue "Jaws" music!

Is there yellow streaks in that scoly or is that just weird lighting? Either way, it looks really nice.

No yellow, this pic was taken under moonlights with an iphone. Still looking for the shrimp, the more time i have to think about this the more i believe it to be a molt. I just don't think a scoly has the ability to catch a shrimp unless it was dead. The mystery continues!

I saw this molt floating around whole in my tank one night. Scared the c**p out of me. Then later that night, found this:

Not sure which is scarier!
