Well i got a request to put up some pics of Monte's tank and instead of jacking another thread i just decided to make my own, so its a standard 40G breeder with only about 20 lbs of LR and about 80lbs of live sand, Monte is a female O. Scyllarus (Peacock Mantis) Stompatopod, she is about 4" long and is quite possibly the smartest snimal i have ever owned, so far she is undefeated in the animal world and soon we will see if she can stand up to the might of a giant hermit and a gorilla crab...anyways here are the pics

If anyone knows or ever sees a peacock mantis shrimp then PLEASE PM me of the location of the animal! thank you in advance and also what do you guys think?

is that the current t5 conectable unit? cam u put individual reflectors on those

no the sand bed on her side of the aquarium is over 5" deep, plus she is perfectly happy and feed often which keeps her occupied and happy, i found that she likes challenges and games, she really enjoys having to think about how to kill her food

also yes those are the current T5 fixtures, im not sure on the reflector, im going to try it and i bet that it can be done but they do have a covering over the bulbs and everything is really convient, im prolly going to take them apart, mount the ballasts seperatly and just but the switches on the back of the hood im building, and going to add reflectors too, they were cheap and are more then enough light for her as her species is known to get shell diesease and there is a direct connection between shell disease and the intensity of the lights
