Hi,

I am new on here and have had my tank up and running for a little over a month now. I used dry rock and seeded it with live rock from a tank from the LFS. The LFS said that I should only see a tiny cycle, which I did and things have been great so far.

while waiting for the cycle and making sure it was done, mr algea bloom came and got a little ahead of me, I hadnt had my CUC in yet. But they are getting it all taken care of pretty quick, with a little help from me.

Last night I added my first 2 fish, ocellaris clowns. They are still getting used to their new home, so they have been pretty much staying near the corners, and also more towards the top, especially if the lights are on.

I am running an Aqueon 700 circultion pump, but my wife thinks its "too much and that they are going to get tired and die". I turned off that pump so she would stop complaining and to let the clowns adjust some without it.

So my main question is: Is the 700 pump too much for the clowns? whats the best placement for it in the tank? right now i have it on the back wall under the intake, point diagonally across and towards the surface.

Thanks!
Jon

They are about 1.5"

Right now i have the pump pointed straight to the front of the tank. I am going to turn it off for now and see how they like it.

What is a good pump to have in there? Should I even bother with one?

Sorry, don't know what I was thinking because I have 957 GPH in my 28 NanoCube. I have the two 266 gph pumps and a 425 gph Koralia nano. The stock pumps pointing up and forward and the nano on the side pointing straight across.

Ok thanks! I am thinking I will try and move the 700 to the back bottom left corner and point it on a 45 to the front top left corner, if that makes sense.

I dont know why I said the clowns are 1.5", looking at them today they are really more like 2.5". Hope they like some more flow. I would hate to think I "wasted" the money for this bigger circ pump when I thought I was making the right decision.
